From our Oyster Bar
From our Oyster Bar

Date: April 6, 2011

Mention oyster bars, and one often thinks of some of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in America - Boston's Union Oyster House, New York's Grand Central Oyster Bar, New Orleans' Acme Oyster House, and San Francisco's Tadich Grill - conjuring up images of fresh seafood served over classic semi-circular, marble topped counters in bustling, energetic surroundings. We think that image pretty well describes The Fish Market, too.

The oyster bar at each of our restaurants is generally the first thing you see as you enter. One notices the crowd, the fresh shellfish in beds of ice, the chalkboard above listing specialties for that day, and of course the skilled "OB" cook on the line serving regulars and newcomers alike. Luckily, you spot an empty stool and slip in. A friendly greeting that follows and your menu in hand, you feel like you just won the door prize - a feeling that buoys you well past your first plate of oysters and glass of wine.

We've just revamped our menu in the oyster bar in an effort to give it a more focused and distinctive touch from our regular dining room menu. The old favorites and unique offerings are still there, but perhaps something new will catch your eye. So come in and check it out. The oyster bar opens daily at 11:00 a.m.
