Two of our locations feature Top of the Market, a separate upstairs restaurant where guests can enjoy an expanded wine list, distinctive desserts and additional seafood specialties.
Overlooking a quiet lagoon from its perch above The Fish Market is our Top of the Market in San Mateo. Opened in 1982, the intimate, elegant setting of this restaurant is enhanced by exhibition-style cooking and superior service. In San Diego, the feature, in addition to white linens, warm teak paneling, large windows and deck, is the spectacular San Diego Bay. Launched in 1989, Top of the Market in San Diego has continued to provide each guest with a memorable dining experience, starting with the best and freshest seafood available.
Top of the Market cuisine is classic fresh seafood with a creative flair. Out of the exhibition kitchen comes a wide-ranging offering, from Pacific Northwest oysters on the half shell, to peppered fresh Eastern scallops with shitake mushroom sauce, to fresh local swordfish grilled over mesquite charcoal. Top of the Market also offers non-seafood entrees featuring prime-grade beef and New Zealand lamb rib chop.
